Karachi (NNI) – Medical experts have stated that nearly 12,000 people are being diagnosed with lung cancer in Pakistan every year, and the disease is spreading rapidly. Every year, 12,000 individuals are reported to be suffering from this disease. Symptoms include shortness of breath, cough, phlegm, among others. This disease is ranked third among men and is cited as a significant cause of death. The primary reason behind this illness is tobacco consumption. These insights were shared during a press conference organized on the occasion of the global month dedicated to lung cancer awareness. Various experts presented these findings.
This information was conveyed by the head of the Oncology Department of Ziauddin Hospital, Professor Adnan Abdul Jabbar, and Agha Hospital’s Professor Yasmeen Abdul Rashid during a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club in connection with the global month dedicated to lung cancer awareness.
