RDA Takes Firm Action Against 16 Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi

The district administration, in collaboration with local law enforcement and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), has successfully taken decisive action against 16 unauthorized housing schemes in various regions of Rawalpindi.

This comprehensive operation, executed across Mouzas Adhwal, Cighu, Chak Cighu, Bhal, Titral, Hoon, Gojra Chak, Ralla, Ralla Gujra, Banda, Wariyam Malokra, Gurha Bertha, Kuri Khuda Bakhsh, and Bagga Sheikhan, entailed the demolition of primary entrances, security installations, boundary walls, partitions, and road infrastructure associated with these unlawful developments.

The RDA spokesperson has confirmed that the list of targeted illegal housing schemes includes Hoon Farm, Theme Park, Cighu Farm House, Green Hawks/Flaura Farms, Freedom Smart Home, Islamabad Forms Phase-I/II, Shahzain Town, Atlantic City, Attar Farms, Project of BSM Developers, Green View, Lake View City/Lake Garden Green Farm House, Green Stone, and Gulberg Garden in Rawat Rawalpindi.

Saif Anwar Jappa, the Director General (DG) of RDA, stressed the importance of these operations, which were initiated in response to public complaints, with the primary objective of putting an end to fraudulent activities linked to unapproved housing schemes that exploit unsuspecting citizens. Jappa underscored that land possession rights were granted to those who had complied with the necessary documentation requirements.

He issued a stern warning to the public, advising against investing in illegal housing schemes and encouraging them to engage only in transactions related to officially sanctioned housing projects. Jappa revealed that prior notices had been issued to the proprietors and promoters of these illegal housing schemes, accompanied by the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) to halt illegal advertising, reservations, and development activities. Furthermore, he highlighted the unlawful operation of booking offices by some owners, a clear violation of regulations, emphasizing the importance of caution among prospective property buyers.
