Rapidly Unfolding Air Asia Flight Incidents Spark Concern in Thailand
During a span of 10 minutes in Thailand, three Air Asia flights experienced emergency situations, with one necessitating an emergency landing.
According to aviation sources, Air Asia’s flight FD 319 departed from Bangkok Airports to Kuala Lumpur at 2:05 PM local time.
Approximately 20 minutes after takeoff, at a speed of 845 kilometers per hour and an altitude of 31,000 feet, the pilot alerted air traffic control of a serious technical issue at 2:29 PM and declared an emergency.

The pilot was instructed to return, and the aircraft safely landed in Bangkok approximately 58 minutes after takeoff, maintaining an altitude of 10,000 feet over the Gulf of Thailand during the return.
Afterwards, the aircraft was changed, and passengers were rerouted to their destinations.
In another incident, Air Asia’s flight FD 3231, bound for Surat Thani, took off from Bangkok at 2:34 PM and experienced an emergency signal at 2:35 PM when the aircraft was at an altitude of 925 feet, signaling an emergency situation. However, the aircraft managed to land safely at its destination after resolving the technical issue during the flight.
A third Air Asia flight, FD 3161, was en route to Chiang Mai via Phuket and experienced an emergency signal from the Airbus A320 aircraft at 2:39 PM, 39 minutes after takeoff. Nevertheless, the aircraft completed a normal landing at its destination.
