Communication Signals Suspended from Indian Mission Chandrayaan 3 to the Moon

Signals from Indian Mission Chandrayaan 3 to the Moon Temporarily Interrupted

The signals from the Indian mission Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon have been temporarily halted due to extreme cold conditions at the Moon’s South Pole. According to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the severe cold has affected the batteries, leading to unsuccessful attempts to establish communication with Chandrayaan-3.

ISRO states that efforts are underway to re-establish contact with the mission and switch it to a working mode. Chandrayaan-3, which landed on the southern surface of the Moon in August, continued to receive data and images for two weeks before being placed in sleep mode.

The Indian space agency remains hopeful that once the batteries are recharged, the mission will resume sending signals. The extremely frigid conditions at the Moon’s South Pole have posed challenges by affecting the batteries of Chandrayaan-3.
