In the picturesque Kagan Valley of Pakistan’s Mansehra District, you’ll find Ansu Lake, lovingly known as the “Lake of Tears.” This unique lake takes the shape of a teardrop and sits at a lofty altitude of 4,245 meters (13,927 feet) in the majestic Himalayas.

What adds to its charm is its close proximity to Malika Parbat, the tallest peak in the Kagan Valley. The name “Ansu” comes from the Urdu word for “tears,” perfectly describing the lake’s distinctive shape.

Legend has it that this incredible lake was discovered by a Pakistan Air Force pilot in 1993 during a low-altitude flight over the region. Since then, it has become a natural wonder worth celebrating.
