UAE Federal Tax Authority Introduces Online Portal to Encourage Employee Innovation
In a bid to foster innovation among employees and upgrade services, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled a digital innovation platform named Tax 10. With over 3,000 international government practices, Tax 10 covers 15 categories, including tax and financial innovations, government services, and future skills.
The platform aims to encourage professional creativity among employees, thereby promoting sustainability and facilitating the development of future tax programs and operational systems. Through Tax 10, FTA employees can participate in various projects and collaborate on ideas related to taxation and financial sectors.
The FTA views Tax 10 as an essential step in accelerating digital transformation in the taxation and financial sectors by adopting the best global practices.
In another development, Dubai Customs recently rescinded its decision to impose a new customs duty on imported goods worth AED 300 or more. The previous limit of AED 1,000 has been restored, effective from 1 March 2023, as per an email notification from the Dubai Customs.
The UAE continues to make strides towards enhancing its financial and taxation systems while fostering innovation among its employees.
