BTS Earns RIAJ Million Certification in Japan with ‘Map of the Soul’
Korean Pop (K-pop) sensation BTS has achieved yet another milestone. The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has certified their album ‘Map of the Soul: 7 The Journey’ for shipping over one million units, earning them the RIAJ Million Certification.
According to RIAJ, albums receive certification for gold, platinum, and million shipments at 100,000, 250,000, and 1,000,000 units respectively. BTS has been joined by other K-pop groups like NCT Dream, Le Sserafim, and Stray Kids in this achievement.
Currently, BTS is on hiatus, with the members focusing on their individual projects. J-Hope has released his solo album ‘Jack in the Box’ and collaborated with American rapper J. Cole on a track called ‘On The Street.’ RM released his solo album ‘Indigo,’ while Jin came out with ‘The Astronaut’ before his enlistment. Meanwhile, Jimin is set to make his solo debut with his album ‘Face,’ and V has been teasing a new project.
This certification adds to the numerous achievements of BTS, who have taken the music world by storm with their unique blend of K-pop and hip-hop. With this latest accolade, they have once again proven their immense popularity in Japan and their worldwide influence.
