Sindh Bans Private Registration of Commercial Vehicles to Curb Revenue Loss

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly has approved the Sindh Motor Vehicle Tax Amendment Bill, effectively putting an end to the private registration of commercial vehicles.

Lawmaker Mukesh Kumar Chawla highlighted that many commercial vehicles had been improperly registered as private, leading to significant revenue losses. He stressed the need for proper classification to curb misuse and boost government earnings.

Additionally, the assembly passed the Sindh Criminal Prosecution Services Bill, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the prosecution system in the province. These legislative measures mark a step forward in Sindh’s efforts to streamline regulations and improve governance.
