Pakistan Railway’s AC Ban for Officers Amid Economic Crisis
Navigating Energy Savings Measures and Financial Challenges in Pakistan's Railway Sector
In a cost-saving move prompted by economic hardships and energy shortages in Pakistan, Pakistan Railway (PR) has announced stringent measures, prohibiting the use of air conditioners (ACs) in the offices of officers up to grade 18.
This directive is not limited to office spaces alone; it extends to various PR facilities, including workshops and factories, with immediate effect and until further notice. Additionally, a pre-existing restriction remains in place, barring the use of ACs in railway officers’ offices during the morning hours from 8 AM to 11 AM. These actions stem from PR’s ongoing financial challenges and its efforts to address them.
