Pillion Riding Ban Enforced in Karachi and Across Sindh Cities
Enhanced Security Measures Implemented for Rabiul Awal Observance
The Sindh government, located in the province of Pakistan, has taken the decision to prohibit pillion riding on motorcycles as a security precaution during the observance of Rabiul Awal 12.
In an official statement released by the home department, it has been outlined that this restriction on pillion riding shall be enforced across all cities on both the 11th and 12th days of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Nonetheless, there exist certain exemptions to this restriction. It will not be applicable to women, children under the age of 12, senior citizens, uniformed personnel serving in law enforcement and security agencies, essential service workers, and journalists, provided they can furnish valid press or service identification cards.
Additionally, the government has declared a public holiday on September 29th, in commemoration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal).
