The Deepal S05 REEV has officially entered its delivery phase, marking a major milestone as Pakistan’s first locally assembled premium range-extended electric SUV. Following its debut at the Pakistan Auto Show 2025 in November, Master Changan Motors Limited has successfully commenced local production at its advanced manufacturing facility in Karachi, completing the entire setup and rollout process in under 90 days. The production line, powered by modern robotics and next-generation manufacturing technology, reflects a strong commitment to locally producing globally competitive electric vehicles with high standards of quality, precision, and reliability.
As Pakistan’s first CKD range-extended electric vehicle, the Deepal S05 has quickly made a strong impact in the competitive C-SUV segment. It has emerged as a preferred option among buyers by offering a blend of premium comfort, advanced technology, and an electric driving experience designed for local road and usage conditions. Built on Changan’s dedicated EPA1 pure electric platform, the vehicle delivers a combined driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers, introducing what the brand describes as range confidence and effectively addressing concerns around electric vehicle usability in Pakistan.
The platform enables a spacious cabin with the longest wheelbase in its category, while its rigid structure enhances safety, ride comfort, and long-term durability. Unlike conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids, the Deepal S05 delivers a true electric driving experience at all times, with the onboard range extender functioning only as a generator rather than directly driving the wheels. This design results in smoother performance, lower noise levels, improved efficiency, reduced mechanical wear, and lower running costs. Even without the range extender, the 27.28 kWh Golden Shield battery provides up to 170 kilometers of pure electric driving, the highest among non-BEV electric vehicles currently available in Pakistan.
The vehicle further stands out with premium features such as zero-gravity co-pilot seating and more than 20 level-2 advanced driver assistance functions, including remote straight-in and out parking. Structurally, it uses a hybrid aluminium-steel chassis with advanced robotic riveting and precision assembly, achieving high torsional stiffness for enhanced safety and driving confidence. Market response has been strong, with test drives and early bookings pushing the Deepal S05 to full booking status until April 2026. Launched at an introductory price of PKR 9,999,000 valid until the end of January 2026, the Deepal S05 represents a significant step forward in Pakistan’s shift toward locally produced, high-tech electric mobility.
