Pakistan is aiming to significantly expand its fruit and vegetable exports, targeting $2 billion within the next three years, up from the current $700 million, as outlined by the Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Merchants Association (PFVA). The ambitious plan seeks to capitalize on growing international demand for high-quality Pakistani produce and enhance the country’s share in global agricultural trade.

PFVA Patron-in-Chief Waheed Ahmed emphasized the strategy during the FoodAg exhibition, where 25 Pakistani companies participated, attracting buyers from 35 countries. The event provided a platform to showcase Pakistan’s diverse fruit and vegetable offerings and secure new international contracts.

During the exhibition, Pakistan obtained fresh export orders from key markets including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Oman. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) noted that the expo generated expected deals worth $730 million, highlighting Pakistan’s rising competitiveness in the global agriculture sector. The initiative reflects a concerted effort to strengthen export-oriented growth, create jobs, and boost foreign exchange earnings through the country’s fruit and vegetable industry.
