A top-level Saudi trade delegation recently visited Pakistan to explore new investment opportunities, marking another significant step in strengthening economic ties between the two countries. This visit follows the landmark mutual defence agreement that has already deepened strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, participated in the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council Meeting held in Islamabad. The event was jointly organised with support from Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Ministry of Commerce. Key figures from Saudi Arabia’s private sector, representing industries such as energy, mining, agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, construction, tourism and real estate, engaged with leading Pakistani business leaders and government officials. The meeting served as a platform for both countries to present new areas of collaboration, particularly in sectors identified as priorities under the SIFC framework. Pakistani ministers and senior industry officials showcased ongoing economic reforms aimed at fostering a transparent, stable, and investor-friendly climate. They highlighted opportunities aligned with Pakistan’s strategy of investment-led growth, targeting strategic sectors like agriculture, renewable energy, mining, tourism, and digital infrastructure. Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud welcomed these efforts, noting Pakistan’s potential as a regional partner, especially in light of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s interest in building long-term partnerships and exploring scalable investment opportunities. The Saudi delegation was also given a detailed presentation on Pakistan’s evolving regulatory landscape, with a focus on simplifying investment procedures and reducing bureaucratic hurdles. This included insights into public-private partnership frameworks and provincial-level initiatives that support foreign direct investment. As part of the broader engagement, the delegation will continue its visit with trips to Lahore and Karachi to meet provincial leadership and explore potential joint ventures. These discussions are expected to pave the way for deeper economic integration and expanded trade, contributing to both Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development goals.
