Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has officially completed the full acquisition of Telenor Pakistan (Private) Limited and Orion Towers (Private) Limited, finalizing a 100 percent ownership transfer and bringing to a close a phased transaction that had been underway for the past three years. The company confirmed that all shares of both entities have now been formally transferred to PTCL, consolidating its control over the acquired businesses.
The completion of the acquisition marks a major milestone for PTCL and represents a significant development in Pakistan’s telecommunications sector. By fully integrating Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers into its corporate structure, PTCL aims to strengthen its market position, expand its customer base, and enhance operational efficiencies across mobile services and telecom infrastructure. The move is also expected to support PTCL’s long-term strategy of growth, digital transformation, and improved service delivery in a highly competitive market.
Industry analysts view the acquisition as a step toward greater consolidation in Pakistan’s telecom industry, with potential benefits including improved network coverage, optimized infrastructure sharing, and enhanced investment capacity. The inclusion of Orion Towers is particularly significant, as telecom tower assets play a crucial role in expanding network reach and supporting future technologies, including next-generation mobile services.
At the time of the announcement, PTCL’s share price was recorded at Rs. 59.53, reflecting a 0.64 percent increase, suggesting a positive response from investors.
