Pakistan’s IT exports reached $2.23 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2026, representing a 19.5% year-on-year increase, according to data from the State Bank of Pakistan. December 2025 set a new monthly record, with IT exports totaling $437 million, up 25% compared to the same month last year.
The sector’s growth is driven by several factors, including government incentives aimed at promoting digital services, active participation in international trade fairs, and a significant contribution from freelancers. Freelance exports are expected to account for $0.8 to $1 billion of total IT exports by the end of FY26, highlighting the rising global demand for Pakistan’s digital talent and services.
