Pakistan’s exports of marble, onyx, and related stone products to China remained stable in 2025, supported by steady demand from the construction and interior decoration sectors, particularly ahead of the Chinese Spring Festival. According to the General Administration of Customs of China, Türkiye led exports with $18.49 million in shipments, followed by Bulgaria at $16.75 million. Pakistan exported 31.74 million kilograms of calcareous building stone, valued at $8.10 million, making it China’s third-largest supplier under HS Code 25152000, which includes calcareous monumental or building stone such as alabaster and onyx.

Exports of cut marble and travertine (HS Code 25151200) rose to $5.41 million in 2025 from $5.02 million in 2024, while crude or roughly trimmed marble (HS Code 25151100) also saw slight year-on-year growth. Precious metal ores (HS Code 26169000) declined to $2.39 million from $8.62 million, and unworked precious and semi-precious stones (HS Code 71031000) reached $2.57 million. Granite exports showed mixed trends, with crude granite declining but cut granite products increasing, indicating a gradual shift toward value-added stone items.

Industry experts noted a seasonal surge in demand during Chinese New Year preparations. Muhammad Abid of Bilal Enterprises said marble and onyx products featuring Chinese characters and cultural motifs attract strong attention ahead of the festival. With the Year of the Horse beginning on February 17, horse-themed marble and onyx items sold out quickly. Abid added that customers appreciate the quality of Pakistani stone and the goodwill toward Pakistan, which further drives demand.

Overall, Pakistan’s stone exports to China in 2025 remained supported by consistent construction and interior decoration demand, with growth focused on cut and themed marble products rather than raw stone shipments.
