The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Tourism Authority has made online registration and digital licensing mandatory for all individuals and businesses operating in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This initiative aims to enhance public safety, ensure service quality, and regulate tourism-related activities across the province.
Under the new directive, hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tour operators, car rental companies, and tourist guides are required to register and obtain official licenses before beginning operations. Authorities stated that this measure will help protect tourists from fraudulent practices and low-quality services while ensuring that all hospitality businesses operate within a transparent and accountable framework.
The Tourism Authority has also been granted the authority to determine official service rates for various businesses to prevent overpricing and maintain fair competition. By introducing a digital licensing system, the KP government seeks to streamline the tourism industry, improve oversight, and make travel services throughout the province safer, more organized, and more reliable for both domestic and international visitors.
