During an official visit to Iraq, Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu held a high-level meeting with Iraqi Air Force Commander Lt Gen Staff Pilot Mohanad Ghalib Mohammed Radi Al-Asadi, where both sides expressed strong interest in the acquisition of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets. The visit, confirmed by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), included a formal guard of honour at the Iraqi Air Force headquarters.
The air chiefs discussed enhancing bilateral military cooperation, focusing on training, technology transfer, and operational collaboration. Iraqi officials praised the professionalism, discipline, and operational expertise of the Pakistan Air Force, underscoring Pakistan’s growing credibility in air power development.
This engagement highlights expanding defense ties between Pakistan and Iraq, with potential future cooperation in aircraft procurement and aviation capability development, signaling deeper strategic partnership between the two countries.
