Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has emphasized that the nature of warfare has changed dramatically due to technological advancements, requiring significant mental and operational adaptation across all levels of the military. During his visit to Bahawalpur Garrison, he was briefed on operational, training, and administrative aspects of the Corps, with particular attention to preparations for multi-domain warfare.
Field Marshal Munir observed a high-intensity field exercise, “Steadfast Resolve,” at Khairpur Tamewali, which showcased the integration of advanced technologies including unmanned aerial systems, modern surveillance equipment, electronic warfare assets, and command-and-control mechanisms. The exercise highlighted the Pakistan Armed Forces’ focus on technology-enabled operations and readiness for future battlefield challenges.
Addressing the troops, he praised their professionalism, morale, and operational preparedness, reaffirming the military’s commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that technological maneuvers are increasingly replacing traditional physical strategies, fundamentally altering offensive and defensive operations, and stressed that innovation, indigenization, and adaptation are central to the ongoing transformation of the armed forces.
In addition to operational briefings, Field Marshal Munir inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub to promote digital skills, particularly among students from Southern Punjab, and opened the APS Abbasia Campus, highlighting the Army’s commitment to quality education and character building. He also visited the EME Regional Workshop to review maintenance procedures for modern platforms using advanced technologies and combat support measures.
Upon arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, the COAS and CDF was received by the Commander of Bahawalpur Corps and laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, offering Fateha to honor the sacrifices of martyrs. These visits and initiatives underscore the Pakistan Armed Forces’ focus on technological advancement, operational readiness, and holistic development of personnel.
