Pakistan will offer a university-level course on international animal rights law for the first time in 2026, marking a significant step in legal education and animal welfare awareness. The program will be introduced at Kinnaird Law School as a full undergraduate semester course, covering global animal law, practical applications, and an examination of gaps within Pakistan’s existing legal framework.
The course is designed to shift the focus of animal welfare from courtrooms to classrooms, equipping future lawyers with the knowledge and skills to approach animal rights as a formal legal discipline.
