The Secretary of the School Education Department has reportedly ended Saturday holidays, directing that offices remain open on both Saturdays and Sundays. Officials say the department has issued instructions to all subordinate institutions to implement this change immediately.
Heads of ten attached departments have been ordered to comply, with notifications reportedly sent to all Directorates of Public Instruction (DPIs), the Children’s Library Complex, PEMA, and PECTA. PECTA and PEMA are expected to brief the Secretary on working arrangements and operational matters to ensure smooth implementation.
Sources confirmed that the newly appointed Secretary has formally communicated the revised working schedule to all subordinate institutions, aiming to enhance coordination, efficiency, and overall departmental performance.
