The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched a new initiative granting automatic recognition to degrees issued by 34 UAE-based universities, streamlining the process for graduates and reducing administrative delays. This program marks the first phase of a nationwide system designed to simplify and accelerate qualification recognition, enabling students from participating institutions to receive immediate official recognition of their degrees without submitting additional documents or undergoing lengthy verification procedures.
Since its introduction, more than 25,000 graduates have benefited from the service, which supports the UAE government’s goals of reducing bureaucracy, enhancing digital services, and improving efficiency in the higher education sector. The system is expected to expand in the future to include Emirati students studying abroad under government-supervised scholarships, providing them with the same seamless recognition process.
The initiative allows graduates to more easily meet employment, residency, and visa requirements while facilitating faster entry into postgraduate studies or professional careers. Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Operations Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser emphasized that the program reflects the ministry’s commitment to flexible, digitally driven services aligned with labor market needs.
The automatic recognition process relies on a secure digital verification system using QR codes, enabling government authorities and employers to instantly confirm academic qualifications. Previously, graduates had to submit physical documents and wait for manual approvals, often causing significant delays. By creating a faster, paperless process, the initiative represents a major step toward the UAE’s broader digital transformation strategy and its vision for an efficient, technology-driven government.
