Private medical college principals in Punjab have requested that regulators extend the deadline for filling vacant MBBS seats to February 28, 2026.
The request was made during a consultative session at the University of Health Sciences, chaired by Ahsan Waheed Rathore. The meeting reviewed unfilled seats, admission progress, and concerns from applicants. Colleges had previously been given a February 13 deadline, but many still reported vacant seats.
Additionally, it was agreed that students withdrawing from admissions by March 31 will receive a full refund. Those seeking transfers must obtain a no-objection certificate from their current college, which institutions cannot withhold beyond February 24.
If the Provincial Admission Committee approves the extension, private medical colleges will fill remaining seats between February 24 and 28, with no further extensions planned.
