Ayesha Azhar, the teenage social media sensation who won hearts across Pakistan and India with her viral dance video, has opened up about her academic struggles during matriculation. The 18-year-old gained nationwide fame in 2022 when a short clip of her dancing to a remix of the Bollywood classic "Mera Dil Yeh Pukaaray" at a wedding went viral, amassing millions of views. The video’s popularity soared further when Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit shared a clip mimicking Ayesha’s dance moves, cementing her status as an overnight internet sensation.
In a recent interview, Ayesha revealed that she was just 14 years old when she performed the dance at her friend’s wedding to the 1955 Lata Mangeshkar song from the film Naagin. Despite her immense social media following, she expressed a strong desire to pursue modelling as a full-time career. Ayesha confirmed that she has completed her matriculation but is currently taking a break from formal education to focus on her modelling ambitions.
She candidly admitted that academics were never her strength, stating, “I barely passed matric exams. In fact, I failed three times.” She credited her friends for encouraging her to stay in school, which eventually enabled her to complete her exams. Ayesha emphasized her intention to explore opportunities beyond academics, acknowledging that she does not feel equipped to continue traditional studies at the moment.
With her attention now firmly on modelling and building a career in the entertainment industry, Ayesha plans to utilize her social media fame to open doors for professional opportunities.
