Scottish vlogger Hugh Abroad has sparked a major conversation online after sharing detailed observations from his recent travels across South Asia. In his latest video, he said he found Pakistan noticeably cleaner than India, based entirely on what he personally experienced during his trip.
According to Hugh, Pakistan’s major cities—including Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi—felt more organized, well-maintained, and cleaner than he expected. He pointed out that public spaces such as parks, roadsides, and commercial areas appeared tidier, with less visible litter and better overall upkeep. He also praised Pakistan’s road infrastructure, describing it as “surprisingly clean and modern” in many locations.
He noted that while both countries have areas facing environmental and sanitation challenges, the places he visited in Pakistan generally seemed better managed compared to the Indian cities he explored. Hugh emphasized that this was not a comparison based on stereotypes but on real experiences from his travels.
His remarks quickly gained attention across social media platforms, with many viewers—especially from South Asia—engaging in heated discussions. Pakistani users appreciated the positive feedback, saying it reflected recent improvements in urban cleanliness. Meanwhile, some Indian viewers disagreed with the comparison, arguing that cleanliness varies widely from city to city in both countries.
Hugh’s candid review has since gone viral, adding to ongoing discussions about tourism, urban development, and the changing global perceptions of Pakistan’s cities.
