Former supermodel Vaneeza Ahmad has opened up about a deeply personal chapter in her life, sharing her battle with lymphoma, a form of cancer affecting the blood and lymphatic system. During a recent appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show, she revealed how faith, prayer, and recitation of Quranic verses played a vital role in her recovery.

Vaneeza recounted that the illness struck at the height of her career. “I was on top of my career and thought I was invincible,” she said, describing her hectic schedule that included 18-hour shoots and constant travel to cities like Paris, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and back to Pakistan. “I was flying high, thinking, ‘Wow, look at me,’ until Allah reminded me where I came from.”

Her health issues began with a persistent headache, which she initially attributed to jet lag. The pain intensified, affecting her vision and memory to the extent that she sometimes forgot her own name. Initial consultations at Agha Khan Hospital suggested a compressed nerve, and later tests diagnosed meningitis. However, when lymph nodes in her neck swelled, a biopsy confirmed lymphoma.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Vaneeza said. “I didn’t even understand what lymphoma was at first. I was young, busy, and full of life — cancer was something that happened to others, not me.” Feeling frightened and uncertain, she sought guidance from a spiritual healer, who advised her to recite specific verses from the Holy Quran and remain steadfast in prayer.

Vaneeza shared that she did not undergo chemotherapy or surgery, instead placing her complete trust in Allah and following the spiritual guidance she received. “I truly believe in the power of prayer and spiritual healing,” she said. “A few days later, the doctors said the cancer was gone. I am still healthy today, Alhamdulillah.”

Reflecting on the experience, the former actress emphasized how the ordeal strengthened her faith and taught her humility. “When you’re at your peak, you often forget the source of your success. My illness reminded me that everything — health, fame, success — only comes from Allah.”

Her story stands as a powerful testament to resilience, faith, and the role of spirituality in overcoming life’s challenges.
