Karachi Metropolitan University has announced new contractual job vacancies for qualified and experienced professionals in administrative and academic support roles. The university is a public sector institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission and established under the Sindh Assembly Act No. LIV of 2023. Located in Block M, North Nazimabad, Karachi, the university aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven education while contributing to the social and economic development of the city.
Applications are invited for the position of Controller of Examinations on a contractual or regular basis. The maximum age limit for this role is 55 years. The Controller of Examinations will be responsible for overseeing all examination-related matters, including conducting examinations, processing results, verifying academic records, and issuing transcripts, degrees, and certificates. The role focuses on developing a transparent, efficient, and technology-based examination system that ensures fair evaluation and prevents malpractice. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling examinations, maintaining student records, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining academic integrity. Eligible candidates must hold an 18-year master’s degree with at least five years of proven experience in examination systems at universities, along with sound knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, and legal frameworks governing semester and annual examination systems.
The university has also announced a contractual vacancy for the position of Manager Procurement, with a maximum age limit of 55 years. The Manager Procurement will be responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement activities in accordance with university policies and SPPRA rules. Duties include preparing tenders, bidding documents, evaluations, purchase orders, and ensuring transparent and cost-effective purchasing processes. The role also involves managing vendor databases, maintaining procurement records, coordinating with finance, audit, and other departments, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. Candidates must possess a master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, commerce, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution, along with a minimum of five years of relevant procurement experience. At least three years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a university, government, semi-autonomous, or autonomous organization is required. Demonstrated knowledge of SPPRA rules and strong proficiency in MS Office are essential.
