Sindh Launches Pakistan’s First Digital Job Portal for Transparent Government Hiring

The Government of Sindh has officially launched the Sindh Job Portal (SJP) — a fully digital platform designed to make government recruitment transparent, efficient, and accessible. With this initiative, Sindh has become the first province in Pakistan to introduce a comprehensive online system for government job applications.

The portal was launched by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, developed in collaboration with the Science and Information Technology Department and Sukkur IBA University. The initiative represents a major step toward digital governance and e-recruitment, aligning with Sindh’s broader vision of promoting technology-driven public services.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, the Chief Minister said the program reflects the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who championed employment opportunities under the slogan, “Benazir Aaie hae – Rozgar laie hae” (Benazir has come, she has brought employment). He emphasized that the new system ensures a transparent and merit-based recruitment process by using standardized online testing and digital verification methods.

Murad Ali Shah explained that candidates who fail the recruitment test will have the option to retake it multiple times, with the first attempt fully funded by the Sindh government. He revealed that around 326,000 candidates have already passed the examination and that tests will now be conducted every month, with results available immediately after completion.

He further noted that the portal will generate a comprehensive database of qualified candidates, as applicants are required to upload all necessary documents — including educational certificates, CNICs, and domicile. Once a candidate passes the test, they can apply directly for available positions across government departments.

Each department will continuously update job vacancies on the portal, ensuring that opportunities are visible and accessible in real time. For instance, if the Education Department announces 100 openings for junior clerks, the Finance Department will simultaneously review the budget and approve funding, ensuring swift hiring.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Sindh Job Portal bridges the gap between the government and the province’s youth. “Through this platform, we have connected the government directly with job-seeking youth, bringing transparency, opportunity, and efficiency to the recruitment process,” he stated.

Officials added that the initiative reflects Sindh’s commitment to digital transformation, reducing bureaucratic delays, eliminating middlemen, and promoting equal opportunities for all qualified citizens across the province.
