The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has published the merit list for the Prime Minister's Youth Chromebook Scheme, opening the door for high-achieving Grade 9 students at affiliated government schools to receive free laptops.
According to a press release dated November 5, the programme is open to students from both the Science and General groups who passed the first annual examinations with outstanding marks. The scheme is designed to reward academic excellence among students in the public school system.
The merit list has been uploaded to the BSEK's official website, where students can check whether they have been selected and confirm their eligibility through the board's dedicated Chromebook Scheme portal.
Students whose names appear on the list are required to complete their registration through the Prime Minister's Youth Chromebook Scheme portal. The board has urged all eligible candidates to verify their status and finish the registration process without delay so they do not miss out on the opportunity.
The initiative is part of a broader federal effort to expand access to digital learning tools for students across the country. By providing devices to top performers in government schools, the programme aims to support students who may otherwise lack reliable access to computers for their studies.
Students are advised to keep their examination details on hand when checking the merit list and to follow the instructions on the official portal carefully to ensure their registration is completed correctly.
