The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has accelerated development work in Sector E-12 of Islamabad after recovering 1,135 kanals of government land that had been occupied for roughly four decades. According to an official press release, more than 60 percent of the overall development work in the sector has now been completed.

The authority said the work is being carried out under the directions of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf. In Sector E-12/4, earthwork has been finished, while construction of the base, sub-base and drainage system is currently underway. Earthwork on Khayaban-e-Iqbal Service Road, the South Service Road and the East Service Road has also been completed.

Progress is similarly reported across other sub-sectors. In E-12/3, TST work has been completed on 15 streets, with earthwork and base construction continuing on the remaining streets. In E-12/2 and E-12/1, TST work has been finished on 25 streets each, while earthwork and base development are moving forward on the rest.

Chairman Sohail Ashraf said all obstacles to the development of Sector E-12 are being removed in line with the law. He stated that the recovered land is worth billions of rupees and that encroachments on government land will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The chairman added that completing development work in Sector E-12 and other sectors is among the authority's top priorities, with all available resources being used to speed up the projects. He noted that the development of Sector E-12 will improve residential facilities for citizens and help address Islamabad's growing housing needs.

The recovery of the land and the pace of construction mark a significant step for the capital's urban expansion, as Islamabad continues to face rising demand for housing and planned residential infrastructure.
