Meta has rolled out a new feature for its Muse AI assistant that allows users to build small, interactive applications inside the main app using nothing more than plain-language descriptions. The tool, called Spaces, generates customized dashboards and tools without requiring any coding knowledge from the user.
According to Meta, people can use Spaces to create a wide range of experiences, including shopping hubs, school dashboards, music trackers, and trivia games. The company said it is releasing Spaces to all Muse users, making the capability broadly available rather than limited to a select group of testers.
A key part of the feature is its ability to connect with external services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, and Notion, along with other supported apps. Once linked, Muse can pull information from these services in the background and automatically refresh details like prices, dates, and schedules, so the mini-app stays current without manual updates.
Users can interact directly with their Spaces by ticking off tasks, adding notes, and editing information inside the interface. Meta also gives users control over where each Space appears in the Muse app, allowing them to pin items to the sidebar, move them to the main tab, or schedule when a particular Space shows up. For instance, a weekly planner could be displayed on workdays and swapped for weekend plans on Saturdays.
Alongside Spaces, Meta said it is bringing Active Memory and Active Focus features from its Muse Wonder AI model to both the Muse app and the Meta AI chatbot. Active Memory is designed to help Muse recognize when information from earlier conversations becomes relevant again, while Active Focus is intended to improve the assistant's ability to stay on track toward specific goals.
The announcement reflects a wider push by major technology companies to turn AI assistants into platforms where users can assemble their own tools. By combining natural-language app creation with live data from third-party services, Meta is positioning Muse as a more personalized productivity companion.
