Pakistan's Cement Exports Fall 9.51% in First Four Months of FY27 Despite Domestic Sales Growth
Cement exports dropped 9.51% to 3.064 million tons in July-October FY27, even as domestic dispatches rose 5.93%, according to APCMA data.

Pakistan's cement exports declined 9.51 percent during the first four months of the current fiscal year, even as domestic sales continued to grow, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Total exports for July-October FY27 stood at 3.064 million tons, down from 3.386 million tons in the same period last year.
Overall cement dispatches for the four-month period rose 2.93 percent to 17.953 million tons, compared with 17.442 million tons a year earlier. Domestic dispatches drove the increase, climbing 5.93 percent to 14.889 million tons, while the export segment remained under pressure.
For October alone, total dispatches edged up 0.37 percent to 4.810 million tons from 4.792 million tons in October 2025. Domestic sales increased 1.17 percent to 4.041 million tons, but export volumes slipped 3.67 percent to 768,754 tons from 798,019 tons.
The data reveals a sharp regional divide. North-based mills dispatched 3.397 million tons in October, down 3.13 percent year-on-year, while South-based mills recorded about 1.41 million tons, up 9.90 percent. More notably, exports from North-based mills fell to zero in October, compared with 114,082 tons a year earlier, and remained at zero across the entire July-October period versus 775,948 tons last year.
South-based mills, meanwhile, expanded their export footprint. Their overseas shipments rose 17.38 percent to 3.064 million tons during July-October FY27, compared with 2.611 million tons a year earlier, and their domestic dispatches grew 11.36 percent to 2.545 million tons. Total dispatches by South-based mills jumped 14.57 percent to 5.610 million tons.
The contrasting performance left total dispatches by North-based mills 1.61 percent lower at 12.344 million tons for the four-month period, down from 12.546 million tons a year earlier. The figures suggest that while domestic demand remains resilient, the country's cement export trade is increasingly concentrated among southern producers.
The latest numbers underline the importance of export competitiveness for the cement sector, which has faced fluctuating overseas demand and shifting regional trade dynamics in recent years.
