The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has notified a new Smart Syllabus for Class 11 students for the 2026-27 academic session, which will govern preparation for the 2027 annual board examinations across the province.

According to a notification issued on November 6, 2026, the authority has approved the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), which includes a reduced syllabus, deleted topics and exercise questions, revised pairing schemes, and model papers. The Academics Committee of PECTAA approved the changes during its 13th meeting held on November 5, 2026.

Under the revised syllabus, selected chapters, topics, and exercises have been removed from various subjects to help students complete their studies within the academic calendar. The changes cover English, Urdu, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, and Islamic Studies.

In Mathematics, the authority has excluded the entire Unit 8, covering Mathematical Induction and Binomial Theorem, along with selected topics and exercise questions from other units such as Complex Numbers, Matrices and Determinants, and Trigonometric Functions. For Chemistry, two complete chapters have been removed: Basic Separation Techniques and Lab Safety and Practical Skills. Selected topics and questions from other chapters have also been excluded. Similar adjustments have been made in Physics, Biology, and Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, where specific topics and exercise questions can be excluded from examination preparation.

The new Smart Syllabus will apply to all nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur.

The notification also directs PECTAA's IT department to upload the revised syllabus, pairing schemes, model papers, and related documents to the authority's official website. Students and teachers have been advised to visit the PECTAA website for curriculum updates and relevant examination documents.
