WhatsApp has announced a new set of features for its Events tool, allowing users to invite guests who do not have a WhatsApp account. The update, revealed on November 5, is being rolled out gradually and will reach all users over the coming weeks.

Previously, WhatsApp allowed users to create events within individual chats and group conversations. With the latest update, users can generate a shareable invitation link that can be sent outside the platform. Recipients can open the link in a browser to view event details and RSVP, even without installing WhatsApp or registering for an account. Organizers can also add a cover photo to customize the invitation.

The update also introduces Events Home, a dedicated section within the app where users can create, organize, and manage all their events in one place. This eliminates the need to scroll through individual chats to find event details. From Events Home, organizers can track responses, send customized invitations, and set reminders for upcoming gatherings.

Privacy enhancements are a key part of the rollout. Event organizers' phone numbers will not be visible to guests they do not know, and guests without WhatsApp accounts will only see the event's address after they have submitted their RSVP. Additionally, organizers can allow guests to bring a plus-one, making it easier to manage headcounts.

These features are designed to make WhatsApp Events more flexible and user-friendly, especially for those who want to invite people outside their immediate WhatsApp network. The gradual rollout means some users may see the update before others, but all should receive it in the coming weeks.
