Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the removal of the Deputy Commissioner in Lodhran following a tragic incident in which a child fell into an open manhole. Expressing deep grief and anger, she directed authorities to immediately secure all hazardous and uncovered manholes across the city to prevent similar accidents in the future.
The Chief Minister extended her heartfelt condolences to the affected family and stressed that negligence by government officials will not be tolerated. Authorities have been instructed to take swift and comprehensive measures to enhance public safety, including routine inspections and prompt action to address potential hazards in urban areas. The directive underscores the provincial government’s commitment to protecting citizens, particularly children, from preventable dangers.
