Lahore Police have reported a significant decline in crime across the city, with data indicating a 52% drop in serious criminal activities during the first eleven months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The statistics reveal that robberies decreased by 49%, while mugging cases fell sharply by 73%. Similarly, emergency calls to Rescue 15 declined by 73%, reflecting enhanced public safety and quicker law enforcement response.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran credited the decrease in crime to a combination of strong government support, the adoption of modern policing technologies, and the continuous vigilance and proactive measures of the city’s police force. Theft cases also saw a notable reduction of 30%, indicating broader improvements in overall security and crime prevention strategies.
The Lahore Police report highlights the effectiveness of strategic policing, including intelligence-led operations, surveillance systems, and community engagement initiatives. The integration of modern technology, such as CCTV networks, automated tracking, and real-time monitoring, has played a key role in both preventing and responding to criminal incidents.
This marked improvement demonstrates the impact of coordinated efforts between law enforcement and local authorities, aiming to create a safer urban environment for residents and businesses alike. The report suggests that sustained focus on technology-driven policing and community-oriented strategies could further reduce crime rates and enhance the quality of life in Lahore.
