Lahore has recorded a significant decline in crime during 2025, with police data showing a 52 percent reduction in serious crimes over the first 11 months compared to the same period last year. According to figures released by the Lahore Police, robberies decreased by 49 percent, while mugging incidents dropped sharply by 73 percent. Calls received by Rescue 15 also fell by 73 percent, reflecting an overall improvement in public safety conditions across the city.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran credited the decline in crime to strong government backing, effective use of modern technology, and sustained efforts by the police force. He said these measures have strengthened law enforcement capabilities and improved response mechanisms. Theft cases also showed a notable decrease of 30 percent, further indicating progress in crime control.
The report highlights the role of strategic policing, technological integration, and coordinated enforcement efforts in reducing criminal activity, with authorities aiming to maintain a safer and more secure environment for Lahore’s residents.
