Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is preparing to launch Pakistan’s first dedicated drone technology unit at the Nowshera Police Training Centre to strengthen counterterrorism operations. The new unit will be equipped with surveillance, operational, and attack drones, along with anti-drone systems and advanced jamming technology.
Personnel selected for the unit are undergoing specialized training, which includes advanced IT courses introduced for the first batch of recruits. Drone teams will be deployed across multiple districts, focusing on areas experiencing increased militant activity. This initiative is designed to complement existing security measures, including KP Police sniper squads, and represents a significant step in modernizing law enforcement capabilities in the province.
