The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has launched a new system for fingerprint verification to simplify the passport application process. Pakistani citizens applying for new passports can now confirm their fingerprints conveniently through the NADRA Pak-ID mobile app from anywhere at any time, eliminating the need to visit offices for this step.
For applicants facing difficulties with fingerprint verification, the app also provides a facial recognition option, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for all applicants. To begin the process, applicants must first submit their passport application through the official online portal. Upon reaching the biometric verification stage, they can log in to the Pak-ID mobile app, navigate to the “Online Passport” section, and enter their passport tracking ID along with their National Identity Card number.
Through the app, users can complete both fingerprint and facial recognition confirmations, streamlining the application process and reducing delays. This integration of digital biometric verification is part of ongoing efforts to modernize Pakistan’s passport services, enhance security, and provide citizens with a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
