The Punjab Forest Department has successfully reclaimed 800 acres of Lal Sohanra National Park that had been under illegal occupation for almost forty years. The large-scale operation involved senior officials, GIS experts, forest officers, and heavy machinery to remove encroachments and restore the area to its natural state.
This achievement represents a major step in conserving wildlife habitats and preserving the park’s ecological balance. Authorities emphasized that the operation reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to protecting state-owned forest land and combating land encroachment across the province. The department highlighted that such measures are crucial for sustainable natural resource management, environmental conservation, and ensuring that future generations can benefit from Pakistan’s rich biodiversity.
