The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Islamabad has taken significant disciplinary measures against 19 officers and officials for corruption, abuse of authority, and negligence, continuing its internal accountability process. According to the FIA’s Directorate of Internal Accountability, six officials were dismissed following departmental inquiries. Among those removed from service, Inspector Maria Niaz was dismissed for illegally occupying a government residence and remaining absent from duty, while Sub-Inspector Kashif Riaz Awan was removed for providing protection to a gang involved in illegal organ trafficking. Sub-Inspectors Tasaddaq Hussain and Ahmad Waqar were dismissed for conducting illegal raids and carrying out flawed inquiries, and Constable Asifullah Dutta faced removal on charges of illegal raids and extortion. Technical Assistant Inayatullah was dismissed due to negligence and involvement in illegal immigration clearance.
Additionally, Inspector Muhammad Arsalan Masood Khan and Inspector Idrees Khan were demoted in pay scale for demanding bribes during inquiries, while Sub-Inspector Sohail Ahmad’s promotion was withheld for one year over official negligence. Penalties of withholding increments for two years were imposed on Sub-Inspectors Shazma Shabbir, Shabana Shamsheer, Umar Farooq, and ASI Farhan Israr for involvement in illegal immigration clearance. Constables Muhammad Shakir, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Zahid Iqbal, Mudassir Saeed, and Adeel Ahmad received one-year withholding of increments for similar violations. Technical Assistant Ghulam Khan received a formal warning for failing to follow official orders.
The FIA emphasized that these actions aim to strengthen transparency, integrity, and professional standards within the agency, taking strict measures against officers involved in illegal activities and holding negligent personnel accountable.
