CDA Issues Eviction Notices in Bhara Kahu and Nearby Areas Amid Urban Regulation Drive

0 0

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started issuing notices in Bhara Kahu, Kot Hatial, Jumma Bazaar, Janjua Town, Mangial, Sabhan, Mandla, and surrounding areas, informing residents that these localities are located on CDA-owned land. Residents with legal claims to properties and constructions in these areas will be compensated at PKR 1,300 per square foot, while those deemed to be occupying government land illegally have been asked to vacate within two days.

The notices have sparked concern among local residents, many of whom have lived in these areas for years and hold utility connections for electricity, gas, and water. Inhabitants have urged the government and CDA to allow sufficient time, conduct a transparent survey, and provide full rehabilitation arrangements for affected families. CDA officials stated that the operation is part of efforts to reclaim government land and enforce the city’s master plan.
