The Punjab government has announced the Ramadan Nigehban Package 2026, a social welfare initiative aimed at supporting low-income families during the holy month of Ramadan. Launched under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, the program provides both cash assistance and free ration supplies to help families cope with rising living costs while maintaining dignity and convenience.
The Ramadan Nigehban Package 2026 targets laborers, urban households, and other vulnerable groups, delivering aid directly to beneficiaries’ doorsteps to avoid long queues and ensure smooth distribution. This year, the program combines digital cash transfers with essential food supplies to increase efficiency and reach.
Eligible families can benefit in two main ways. First, they may receive a ration bag containing staple items such as 10 kg flour, rice, sugar, ghee, and lentils, providing immediate food relief. Second, certain qualified households can receive up to PKR 10,000 in cash through digital wallets or bank accounts to cover additional household expenses during Ramadan.
To qualify, applicants must be residents of Punjab with a monthly household income below PKR 50,000 and a poverty score (PMT) below 34. Families who were previous beneficiaries of BISP or Ehsaas programs are automatically included. The program is designed to support over 6.5 million families across the province.
Registration for the package is simple and can be done online or via SMS. Online registration is available through the PSER Punjab portal, where applicants enter their CNIC, mobile number, and household information. SMS registration can be done by sending a 13-digit CNIC to 8123, or applicants can visit their nearest Union Council office or e-Khidmat Center. Payments are digitized through the Nigehban Card system to ensure transparency and timely delivery.
Required documents include a valid CNIC, a mobile SIM registered in the applicant’s name, and a household utility bill for verification purposes. The government emphasizes that the program is fully transparent, with door-to-door distribution and digital payment systems ensuring that aid reaches deserving families efficiently.
