A westerly wave is expected to affect western parts of the country from February 8, moving into upper regions by February 9. Under the influence of this weather system, widespread rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall are likely across multiple provinces.
In Balochistan, rain with wind and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over the hills, is expected in areas including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chaghi, Noushki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Mastung, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Gawadar, Panjgur, and Awaran on February 8 and 9.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain with wind and thunderstorms, accompanied by snowfall over hilly regions, is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Kohistan, Bunner, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, Kurram, Bannu, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan on February 9 and 10. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.
Punjab and Islamabad are expected to see isolated rain and thunderstorms, with snowfall in higher areas, from the evening of February 9 through February 10. Affected areas include Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab, Jhang, Noorpurthal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, and Narowal. Lahore is expected to experience partly cloudy weather during this period. Isolated hailstorms are possible, and gusty winds or windstorms may affect southern districts.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also likely to receive rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall in mountainous areas including Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Guanche, and Shigar, as well as in Kashmir regions such as Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur on February 9 and 10. Isolated hailstorms are possible in Kashmir.
Sindh is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions across most districts, with light rain or drizzle and gusty winds possible along coastal areas on February 8 and 9.
