The Capital Development Authority has launched a major initiative to transform Islamabad into Pakistan’s leading cultural and tourism capital while preserving its long-standing identity as a garden city. As part of the plan, the CDA has invited proposals from nationally and internationally recognized consultants for the role of Creative Consultant for the federal capital.

The initiative aims to go beyond routine beautification and reshape public spaces into a cohesive and dynamic urban experience. The selected consultant will act as a city curator, integrating art, culture, sports, cuisine, leisure, heritage, ecology, and recreation into Islamabad’s landscape in line with global practices and Pakistan’s cultural heritage.

The vision includes creating a citywide tourism framework and introducing distinctive public projects across Islamabad, including green corridors, civic plazas, cultural and heritage trails, sports and wellness zones, culinary districts, and other experience-based destinations.

CDA officials said they are seeking professionals with at least 20 years of leadership in creative direction, urban regeneration, place-making, or destination development, with a proven track record of delivering impactful public realm projects at national or international levels. Proposal documents are available through official CDA platforms, and the authority emphasized its right to accept or reject submissions as it moves forward with efforts to position Islamabad as a major cultural and tourism hub.
