More than a million acres of forest land, valued at approximately Rs. 1.3 trillion, have been reclaimed through coordinated efforts led by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Balochistan. This significant recovery followed an intensive eight-month campaign targeting illegal occupation and land encroachments. The operation was carried out in partnership with the Board of Revenue and local deputy commissioners, resulting in the successful handover of the reclaimed land to the Forest Department for preservation and management.
To ensure transparency in the process and resolve potential disputes over land ownership, authorities have set up Forest Settlement Boards and Tribunals. In addition to these efforts, NAB has initiated an inquiry into irregular land allocations within Miani Hore, a protected mangrove zone located in the Hub district.
