Pakistani drivers can now obtain an International Driving License (IDL), enabling them to drive legally in 132 countries worldwide. This provides a major advantage for frequent travelers, business professionals, and expatriates who need to drive abroad.
The application process has been simplified to make it more accessible. Applicants are required to submit key documents, including an attested copy of their passport, passport-sized photographs, CNIC copies, and a valid national driving license. Individuals aged 50 and above may also need to provide a medical certificate to confirm fitness to drive.
Applicants must visit the relevant Driving License Authority, where biometric data is collected, and they undergo an eyesight test along with a traffic signs assessment. Once all requirements are successfully completed, the International Driving License is issued within a week.
This license allows Pakistani drivers to legally operate vehicles in 132 countries, facilitating international travel, business trips, and global mobility with ease and convenience.
