The government has streamlined the registration process for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program, allowing citizens to apply online from the comfort of their homes. This digital shift aims to make homeownership more accessible, faster, and convenient, eliminating the need for in-person visits to government offices. According to the Housing Department, the program has already achieved significant milestones. A total of 30,600 houses have been completed, and 105,700 families have received loans to construct their own homes. Additionally, 69,200 families have received the second installment of their loans to continue ongoing construction projects, reflecting the program’s sustained impact on housing development across the country. The initiative offers easy loan terms along with attractive repayment incentives. Families who repay their loans within one to three years are eligible for a 20 percent discount, while those completing repayment within four to six years receive a 10 percent discount. These incentives encourage early repayment and help families complete their homes faster. By enabling online registration, the government has increased transparency, reduced administrative delays, and provided a hassle-free experience for applicants. The program’s digital platform ensures that more citizens can participate efficiently, supporting the government’s broader goal of facilitating affordable housing and empowering families to achieve homeownership.
