Applications for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2026 in Sweden are now open, offering international students a chance to study at the University of Gothenburg. This scholarship is designed for students enrolled in international Bachelor’s or Master’s programs and is made possible through support from the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation, the Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR). The Axel Adler Scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver for fee-paying students, giving them an opportunity to pursue higher education in Sweden while being part of a diverse and talented academic community.

The selection process focuses on academic excellence and a demonstrated passion for the applicant’s field of study. Applicants are assessed based on their qualifications and motivation, with an emphasis on programs they have identified as their first choice. The scholarship not only reduces financial barriers but also offers a supportive learning environment that encourages academic growth.

In addition to the standard Axel Adler Scholarship, the University of Gothenburg offers the Axel Adler Scholarship for Sustainability 2026. This version is available for Master’s programs with a sustainability focus and requires applicants to include a motivation statement outlining their past or planned contributions to sustainability.

Eligibility for the Axel Adler Scholarship requires applicants to be fee-paying students admitted to a full-time international Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the University of Gothenburg. For Bachelor’s programs, only Software Engineering, International Relations, and Business and Economics are eligible. Applicants for the Sustainability Scholarship must be enrolled in Master’s programs with a sustainability focus.

The scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver, reducing the cost of studying in Sweden, though it does not cover living or travel expenses. Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation, which will be evaluated by academic staff to rank candidates. Eligible students will receive instructions to complete their application via email by 11 February 2026.

The deadline to apply for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2026 is 15 January 2026, with proof of eligibility for studies required by 2 February 2026. This scholarship represents a significant opportunity for international students to access quality education in Sweden while benefiting from financial support and a focus on academic and sustainability excellence.
