Applications are now open for the CERN Summer Student Program 2026 in Switzerland, offering fully funded internships for international students, including those from Pakistan. This program provides undergraduate and master’s students with an exceptional opportunity to gain practical experience in physics, computer science, engineering, and mathematics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, one of the world’s leading scientific centers. The internship lasts between eight to thirteen weeks, during which students work on advanced technical projects under the supervision of experienced researchers and engineers. Participants also attend specialized lectures in physics, computing, and engineering, as well as workshops and site visits to CERN facilities, providing exposure to cutting-edge research and technologies.
The program is fully funded, covering a daily stipend of 93 Swiss francs, health insurance, travel allowances, and assistance with accommodation. Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program, have completed at least six semesters of full-time study, remain registered as students during the program, and not have participated in CERN programs for more than three months previously. A good command of English is required, and knowledge of French is an added advantage.
The CERN Summer Student Program offers international students the chance to gain valuable mentorship, professional experience, and networking opportunities while working alongside top scientists and engineers. Required application documents include a curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and an academic reference letter. Interested students can apply online through the CERN application portal and must submit their materials before the January 26, 2026 deadline. This fully funded summer program provides a unique opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge, develop technical skills, and build an international career in science and technology.
